Hot Prospects: Line Drawing
- This event has passed.
ABOUT THIS ACTIVITY
Through drawing and other creative styles we will be mapping our movement through the wonderful space and architecture of the National Football Museum. We will explore the collection through a spacial lens picking out lines and forming connections to make abstract pieces of art, both individually and collectively.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Rosanna Frith-Salem (they / them)
Rosanna’s work is directly inspired by the passion and movement of football. They create line drawings of specific goals, moments and full matches using pen and pencil. They started this way of working watching Match of the Day one evening while studying Fine Art at Loughborough University in 2016. They put pen on paper and kept their eyes on the screen, letting their pen go where the ball goes, rebounding against players, moving from player to player and eventually in the back of the net or saved!
Rosanna has played football since they were five years old and it felt like the perfect way to express their love of the game. Their aim continues to be to connect the worlds of art and football, and the people that weave throughout them, and make space for women and non-binary players of all ages. Rosanna does this through facilitating drawing workshops for football teams, young and old.
HOT PROSPECTS CREATIVE WORKSHOPS
The National Football Museum is looking to team up with young people from the Greater Manchester area to explore the links between football and creativity via a series of free artist-led workshops.
On Monday evenings and Saturday daytimes, the museum will play host to in-person sessions. We will exploring how art can harness the creative power of football. You can sign up for one, or all, whatever takes your fancy!
Following on from these workshops, you will be invited to apply to Hot Prospects, our first ever youth advisory group.
