National Football Museum wins VisitEngland accolade

The National Football Museum has been recognised for its outstanding service, winning one of VisitEngland’s prestigious accolades in their annual Visitor Attraction awards.

The national scheme serves to highlight those attractions that go above and beyond to deliver the best possible experience. The museum was awarded VisitEngland’s Welcome accolade, acknowledging the warm greeting and friendly service offered by our front of house team.

Assessors were particularly impressed by the welcoming staff, enthusiastic tour and the passion on display from museum assistants and volunteers alike. The team’s “excellent standards of customer care, efficiency and knowledge” were also commended.

Only 21 attractions across the country received a Welcome commendation, and the National Football Museum was one of just two destinations in the North West to receive the award, the other being Sandcastle Waterpark in Blackpool.

“Obtaining a Welcome accolade is an amazing achievement, not just for the museum in general, but also for every member of our front of house, retail and volunteering teams,” said Front of House Manager Matthew Prichard. “We all work hard to deliver a top-quality service to every visitor who comes through our turnstile, as we believe it is a crucial part of the overall experience. We’re keen to maintain our high standards, and will be doing our best to remain at the top of our game in the coming months.”
