Sir Tom Finney Knighthood

The National Football Museum is delighted to have former Preston North End and England legend Sir Tom Finney's Knighthood back on display. Sir Tom was awarded the knighthood in 1998 to become the third footballer to receive such an honour. Sir Tom is famous for the loyalty he showed to his hometown league club, Preston North End, where he scored 210 goals in 473 appearances. He enjoyed a highly successful international career, winning 76 England caps and scoring 30 goals. He was also awarded an OBE in 1961 and a CBE in 1992, all three can be seen in the Museum.
