National Football Museum remembers Sir Bobby Robson

The National Football Museum is saddened to learn of the death of Sir Bobby Robson.

Sir Bobby, one of England’s great footballing legends visited the Museum in 2003 when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. On receiving his award he said 'I'm overwhelmed. This is a huge honour. To join such an illustrious group is fabulous.' He is also one of a small number of football legends to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame twice, receiving a special European Hall of Fame award in 2008, for his services to the European game. Unfortunately he was not well enough to attend last year’s event and it was presented to him earlier this year on behalf of the museum at an event organised by EPS Signings.

Kevin Moore, National Football Museum Director, said 'Bobby Robson was one of the most successful managers of his generation. He will be greatly missed.  Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time’.
