Coming home? Football never left. It’s here every day at the National Football Museum, not least during the summer’s European Championships.
Whether the men’s side emulate the Lionesses or endure further heartbreak, we will be here, celebrating the tournament through special talks, tours, craft activities and workshops: perfect for young debutants and squad veterans alike.
We will be kicking off proceedings with an all-action celebratory weekend across Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June.
Sport your country’s colours via our face painting station, then receive a special Pep Talk with storyteller Sophia Hatfield. Sophia will be your football manager for the day, transforming our Pitch Gallery into a dressing room ahead of the big game. You can help Sophia write an inspirational pre-match speech for the players – and can even have a go at delivering the team talk yourself!
On Saturday 15 June, Fairly Famous Family will be pitching up at the museum, bringing their mobile football stadium to Cathedral Gardens. Get involved in some Euro-themed one-a-side football, complete with a referee and commentator. This fun form of football theatre is entirely free, and a perfect warm-up for your museum visit!
Every weekend during the Euros, visitors can design and make their very own flags, expressing their identity and personality. Draw inspiration from traditional flags and modern variants to create something colourful and unique, before sharing with others via our community goal net.
With a new Squad Goals trail, special Euro-related tours and daily Pitch Gallery activities to enjoy, we have everything you need to get in the mood for a full summer of football action.
