Our latest Pitch Gallery exhibition tells the story of the football shirt pioneers, from their humble beginnings in a Leicestershire textile town to official kit manufacturers for the England national team.

Throughout the seventies, Admiral changed the very fabric of the beautiful game, making the shirts worn by superstars accessible to supporters of all ages. From the late fifties, limited numbers of replica shirts were available for children only: Admiral transformed the entire market, bringing football kits to the masses.

The exhibition picks the key moments in Admiral’s timeline through objects, photographs and kit designs. Learn more about the early shirts that started a kit revolution, the processes behind their trademark style and their eye-catching modern-day rebirth.

Admiral: 50 Years of the Replica Shirt is on display to coincide with the release of 50 Years Of The Replica Shirt: The Admiral Book.
