Celebration Station
How do you celebrate a victory, or finding the back of the net?
Football has provided some of sport’s most iconic celebrations over the decades, from simple but effective poses to more choreographed efforts. Some celebrations are so famous that they are trademarked by their players!
This February half term, we are celebrating the celebrations themselves with a fun creative activity. You can make your own footballer in paper doll form, building them limb by limb and securing the parts in place with safety pins. The end result is a player that can be moved into your preferred celebration pose, be it a straight-armed Shearer or the popular ‘Cold Palmer’ (sorry, Morgan Rogers). You could even come up with a completely unique celebration of your own!
We will also be asking visitors to practice heir own celebrations in real life at our Celebration Station. Grab a shirt and prop of your choice and strike a pose against our Pitch Gallery backdrop!
