The National Football Museum was proud to serve as the host venue for the EFL’s Season Launch event on Wednesday 5 August.
For one afternoon only, our Pitch Gallery and building exterior were transformed to mark the upcoming 2026-27 campaign, with players, managers, media representatives and club foundations filling the ground-floor area.
Those in attendance included Burnley and England full-back Kyle Walker, Sheffield United attacker Rhian Brewster, Stockport County midfielder Ollie Norwood and Rochdale forward Emmanuel Dieseruvwe, as well as Nigel Clough and Tony Mowbray, managers of Manfield Town and Blackburn Rovers respectively.
Alongside the various broadcast interviews, a number of clubs took the opportunity to showcase aspects of their outreach and community programmes.
Port Vale’s Dementia Choir performed a number of songs, including those by Vale fan Robbie Williams. Salford City’s 92 Foundation demonstrated one of their circuit training classes, while Blackburn Rovers brought football skill drills and axe throwing to the galleries.
All five of the EFL’s magnificent trophies were on display, including the current iteration of the Championship trophy. The original, first used in 1891, is on permanent display at the heart of our Match Gallery.
