The National Football Museum was this week proud to host the BBC Sport team for an in-depth look at the history and culture of football video games.
‘The Beautiful Gamers’, an 80-minute broadcast on BBC 5 Live and the BBC Red Button, explored the rise of videogaming as a sport in its own right, and looked at the threats and opportunities it provides for the real world of football.
A live audience of gamers joined host Dan Walker and a panel that included England captain Steph Houghton, Football Manager’s Miles Jacobsen and YouTube presenter Spencer Owen. Co-host Julia Hardy explored our Pitch To Pixel: The World of Football Gaming exhibition, and spoke to some of the world’s top professional gamers about how to make a living from something millions of us do for fun.
The show is available until 27 February on BBC iPlayer. Head here to watch now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p03g8cyj/the-beautiful-gamers.
