New Board Members Join NFM

We want to give a very warm welcome to three new members to our Board of Trustees and one member to our Trading Company Board! These new additions bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the National Football Museum and will help support us in our Football Creates strategy.

NFM Board of Trustees

Leigh Gell is the lead for women and girls football at Manchester FA which involves developing, growing and diversifying women and girls football across Greater Manchester. Leigh is also an active Match Official covering both the men’s and women’s games.

Karan Rai is the EDI Insights & Research Manager as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Between Leeds Beckett University and PGMOL. He brings experience working in the Criminal Justice Sector, mainly for Unlocked Graduates, where he worked as a Prison Officer on the programme and then as their Ambassador Network Manager. Karan also Chairs the London Bulls Supporters Group and co-hosts the London Bulls Podcast.

Steve Wilson is the Group Chief Finance Officer at Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), overseeing the finances of GMCA including Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, the offices of the Mayor of Greater Manchester and the Deputy Mayor for Police, Crime and Fire. He combines his day job with the role of Non-Executive Director, Deputy Chair and Chair of the Finance and Performance Committee at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust and is a Trustee for St Ann’s Hospice and a Director of Southway Housing Trust. Steve is an avid (and regularly disappointed) Derby County fan where he has recently been appointed to the Supporters Board.

NFM Trading Company Board

Simon Anderson is a restaurateur, consultant and entrepreneur focused on hospitality and food halls. He cofounded Next Phase and works with local authorities, developers and landlords on projects across the UK and internationally.
