The National Football Museum is expanding the range of tours available for visitors, with Mandarin Chinese tours (from 12 March) and an International Women’s Day tour among the new options available.
Pre-booked, twice daily tours have proved very popular with visitors since being introduced by the museum in late 2015. A perfect introduction to the museum for first-time visitors, 45 minute tours with one of our team help make sure you don’t miss any of the highlights from our collection or displays. Visitors get to hear some of the stories behind the objects on display that don’t appear in the guidebooks, and the museum team will make sure you find out all you want to know about your team or particular area of interest.
As Manchester welcomes more visitors from across the world, the museum is introducing tours for Mandarin Chinese speakers (first tours on 12 March, with further dates tbc), which are available to book online here.
On Tuesday 8 March, International Women’s Day, our tours will be looking at the story of women’s football. From the days of Dick, Kerr Ladies playing in front of large crowds around the world, through half a century of being banned from playing, to the recent rise of the women’s game, this tour will highlight some of the fascinating stories in the museum’s collection. The 45 minute tours can be booked in advance for £4, including refreshments.
