Xavier Wiggins to Arrive on Day 45 of Historic 92-Day Walk
Walk92, the powerful new movement amplifying the community impact of football, is excited to announce it is working in collaboration with the National Football Museum (NFM), one of the UK’s most iconic football institutions.
As part of his 92-day walking journey across every English league ground, Walk92 co-founder and passionate football-for-good advocate Xavier Wiggins will arrive at the National Football Museum in Manchester on Day 45: Sunday, September 14, 2025.
This marks nearly the halfway point of his route, with Xavier walking that day from Marsden to Salford, passing by Oldham Athletic, Manchester City, and culminating with a special visit to the NFM.
More Than a Walk. A Living Archive of Football’s Social Impact
Walk92 is more than just a test of endurance. It’s a national call to action, inviting fans, clubs, and communities to unite around football’s potential for social change. In partnership with NFM, Xavier is not only walking across the country but also documenting the incredible work done by the Club Community Organisations (CCOs) across the country.
At each club, Xavier will gather details of community initiatives that they have undertaken in the past year, whether that’s food banks, mental health support, or educational programmes, showcasing how football is used as a force for good in local communities.
At the end of the walk, this dossier of community projects will be presented to the NFM archive, serving as a unique record of Football for Good throughout the past year. This collection will become a valuable resource for future generations, illustrating how the sport transcends the pitch to make a real difference.
“We’re thrilled to officially announce our collaboration with the National Football Museum,” said Simon Burton, co-founder of Walk92. “Xavier’s journey is not only about personal achievement, it’s about capturing the heart of football’s community impact. The fact that this work will be preserved in the museum’s archive is a powerful testament to how the sport can change lives both on and off the pitch.”
“This collaboration perfectly aligns with our mission to tell the stories of football’s cultural impact,” said Tim Desmond, CEO at the National Football Museum. “While Walk92 is walking across the country, they are also documenting a significant chapter of football history, how clubs and their communities are using football to drive positive social change. We look forward to welcoming Xavier on Day 45 and playing a key role in preserving these important stories.”
