Equity in Football

The National Football Museum believes that it is the right of all women to enjoy football openly, fearlessly and with equity, and we continue to work towards achieving our pledge of 50% female representation at the museum and the National Football Museum Hall of Fame.

We are committed to celebrating the women’s game through our content and programming, and by collecting and sharing women’s experiences in football, recognising the challenges they face and the intersectional identities of many engaged in the game.

Our Time is Now landscape v2

Our current photographic exhibition ‘Our Time is Now’ showcases the impact of the Lionesses’ win at the Women’s Euros in 2022 and how their performance has inspired and empowered communities across England, and over the coming weeks we will be sharing more powerful stories of women in football, represented by objects in our collections, as part of our commitment to amplifying women’s voices in the sport.

We are also asking fans to share their thoughts and responses to the Women’s World Cup as part of our contemporary collecting. If you would like more details about this campaign, please contact collections@natonalfootballmuseum.com.
