This year, our Christmas programme of activities is inspired by the release of our fantastic stocking filler, The Story of Football in 100 Objects.
Join us at the National Football Museum across the festive period as we celebrate Christmas and ring in the New Year with a unique programme of activities, all based on our brand new book.
The Story of Football in 100 Objects chronicles the history of the beautiful game through the objects in our Football Heritage Collection: the largest football collection in the world.
We’ve chosen twelve iconic objects that have helped shape the story of football, and are bringing them to life on the galleries through craft activities, storytelling and trails.

Rank: Object Wall
Get involved in our interactive wall and rank a selection of our book-related objects for visitors (and staff) to judge!

Pop-up: 100 Objects
Large-scale versions of some of the book’s key objects, from shirts and boots to placards and inflatables.
The captivating story of football told as never before, through 100 amazing objects collected from its rich history.
Carefully selected from the unique archive of the museum, these and many other artefacts give an amazing account of football itself, but also of the clubs, players and fans at all levels.
They take us inside moments of high drama, crushing heartbreak and euphoric success, and together reflect a diverse, inclusive and surprising vision of the world’s favourite sport.
We’ve chosen twelve iconic objects that have helped shape the story of football, and are bringing them to life on the galleries through craft activities, storytelling and trails.
